Land Board Christmas Celebration
The Land Board held its Christmas celebration in the Capitol rotunda on Tuesday, December 16 before the Land Board meeting. The Capital Singers from Capital High School performed their songs and carols, filling the building with with beautiful acoustics.
The Land Board then took the opportunity to present a "giant check" to the young people and Superintendent Critchfield. Public schools are receiving a $68,224,800 distribution for the current school year, which is the largest portion of the $110,371,200 distributed to all endowment beneficiaries.
Funding for this distribution comes from money earned from managing endowment land and investments.

New Shared Stewardship Agreement Signed
On Friday, Dec. 5, Governor Brad Little, US Forest Service Chief Tom Schultz and Director Dustin Miller signed an agreement that renewed and expanded Idaho's Shared Stewardship agreement between IDL and the federal government.
The new agreement outlines an expanded, long-term strategy to advance forest restoration, increase active management and reduce wildfire risk across Idaho's forests and nearby communities.
The new agreement deepens and broadens joint efforts to increase timber production, accelerate restoration activities, and expand the pace and scale of forest health projects on Idaho’s national forests and adjacent state and private lands.
It builds upon the progress achieved under the landmark 2018 Shared Stewardship agreement and reaffirms both partners’ commitment to proactively manage Idaho’s landscape in the face of longer, more intense fire seasons.

Logging with the Land Board
The event was held on September 26 on public lands that was under contract for logging by Mark Mahon of Mahon Logging out of Council. Mark and Superintendent Critchfield had discussed holding and event to highlight the important relationship between the State Endowment, the Good Neighbor Authority and the timber community. Each of the Land Board members were invited to participate. We were happy that Superintendent Critchfield, Controller Woolf, and Secretary McGrane were able to attend. Mahon Logging was true to their word and had each of the board members and Director Miller operating logging equipment after a short training period. We’re happy to report there were no casualties reported and all in attendance gained a better insight into the daily logging operations and beauty of Idaho forests.
