Capitol Christmas Tree
You know Christmas is near when the tree goes up in front of the Capitol building. Each year IDL's Southwest Supervisory Area plays a key role, cutting down the tree and rigging it up to the crane. A special thanks to Fire Warden Casper Urbanek, Assistant Fire Warden Bryan Durkin and Assistant Fire Warden Alex Cox who did a fantastic job.
This year's tree came from the lawn in front of the Len B. Jordan Bldg directly north of the Statehouse.
Thousands of lights will don the tree when decorated. The Idaho Capitol Christmas Tree Lighting was held December 3.

Coeur d’Alene Lighting Ceremony Parade
The theme of the 33rd Annual Lighting Ceremony Parade was Hometown Heroes, and what could be a better fit?
Mica Forest Protective District firefighters, participated in the parade along with Smokey Bear (aka Blaine Frederickson), representing IDL's heroes who work tirelessly to keep our communities safe.
The parade entries lit up downtown CDA with marching bands, dancing, music, festive floats, and of course the IDL truck with Smokey.
The theme worked seamlessly with National Gratitude Month and IDL's prevention messaging focusing how best to thank a firefighter- Prevent Wildfires!
