September is Suicide Prevention Month
According to the National Institute of Mental Health, suicide is a major public health concern. More than 48,000 people die by suicide each year in the United States; it is the 11th leading cause of death overall. Suicide is complicated and tragic, but it is often preventable. For more information and resources on suicide prevention, visit the National Institute of Mental Health.
Help raise awareness by sharing resources that can help others recognize the warning signs for suicide and know how to get help.

Driving IDL Vehicles
Our work at IDL requires many of us to drive often, sometimes long distances and following long hours over many days, often during the busiest times of the day.
When we are driving an IDL vehicle, it is our responsibility to obey all traffic laws, be especially mindful of our actions, and be courteous to other drivers. The IDL decal is on all IDL vehicles, and we represent IDL as long as we are in those vehicles. There is never a time that speeding or running a red light or stop sign is acceptable or necessary.
Your safety, and the safety of others, is our number one priority. Drive safe.
Fall Vehicle Maintenance
Fall is a great time to do a vehicle check and conduct basic maintenance. With the days becoming shorter and the weather changing, it's important to ensure that your IDL vehicle is ready for winter conditions.
It’s dangerous when your car breaks down on the side of the road, and the danger is magnified by wet or icy conditions. Exposure to below-freezing temperatures can add to the danger. Car care is a way to help avoid that happening to you.
Review the list below to prepare your vehicle for the upcoming winter months.
- First aid kit: Replenish used items and replace expired items
- Inspect your fire extinguisher and recharge if necessary
- Seat belt cutter. Let me know if you need one for your vehicle
- Replace worn out windshield wipers.
- Inspect your lights and blinkers
- Check all fluids
- Schedule an oil change
- Have a brake inspection
- Check the battery and replace if needed
