Idaho City, Idaho: After a critical fire weather day Saturday that brought wind along with hot and dry conditions, crews were able to hold the Flat Fire with minimal growth. These weather conditions are expected to continue today. The west portion of the Flat Fire remains contained. The most active part of the fire continues to be the southeast portion where it is burning in timber, grass, and understory. The use of aircraft to drop water on that portion of the fire continues to prevent fire growth toward the Idaho City municipal watershed. Assigned resources include 10 hand crews, multiple engines, heavy equipment and aircraft. There are other fires in the area as part of the Middle Fork Complex Fire.
