Boise Idaho - If you see smoke today (Apr. 2) coming from the area of the Fort Boise Wildlife Management Area near Parma, please know it is a prescribed burn and there is no danger.
Idaho Department of Lands (IDL) firefighters will be assisting the Idaho Fish and Game with the burn to control noxious weeds in approximately 150 acres of reed grass in the marsh areas. IDL provided the same treatment to the Roswell Marsh Wildlife Habitat Area on March 20.
Prescribed burns only take place if weather conditions permit. It should take just one day to complete the process at this location.
For information about the Fort Boise Wildlife Habitat Area, please contact Fish and Game’s Fort Boise WMA office at (208) 722-5888.
