Hospital Fire in Orofino 100% Contained

Orofino, Idaho - Officials report management of the Hospital Fire has been transferred from the Type 3 Incident Commander back to the local district. The incident is 100% contained. Mop up operations are continuing.

Fire officials are grateful for the strong support of cooperating agencies who helped suppress this fire including Clearwater-Potlatch Timber Protective Association, Idaho Department of Lands, U.S. Forest Service, Orofino Fire Department, Twin Ridge Rural Fire District, Sunnyside Rural Fire District, Kamiah Fire-Rescue and Grangemont Fire District.

This will be the final update for the incident.

· During closed burn season, before burning debris apply for a free burn permit – it’s the law

· Use campfires safely by staying clear of flammable debris and burning on mineral soil

· Maintain vehicles and OHVs properly – especially their tires - so you don’t spark a fire

· Secure trailer chains so they don’t drag and cause a fire

· Never park over dry grass because hot exhaust systems can start a fire
