Hospital Fire Surrounded by Dozer Line

Orofino, Idaho – Fire officials report the Hospital Fire in Orofino is now fully surrounded by dozer line but remains 0% contained. While recent precipitation is helpful, firefighters are waiting for the risk of lightning to subside before beginning mop up operations. The cause of the incident is under investigation.

Clearwater County has reopened Dent Bridge Road but Wixson Heights remains closed. Tomorrow morning local law enforcement will escort Wixson Heights homeowners into the neighborhood starting at 7:00 AM. · Use campfires safely by staying clear of flammable debris and burning on mineral soil

· Maintain vehicles and OHVs properly – especially their tires - so you don’t spark a fire

· Secure trailer chains so they don’t drag and cause a fire

· Never park over dry grass because hot exhaust systems can start a fire
