Fire burning northwest of Orofino
(Orofino, ID) – The Old Ahsahka fire was reported shortly after 3pm this afternoon approximately 4 ½ miles northwest of Orofino, ID. Initial fire size was reported at 40 acres. Numerous fire engines, heavy equipment, hand crews, and firefighting aircraft were dispatched to suppress the fire. The fire is burning in grass and timber. Structures are threatened. Any evacuations, if needed, will be issued by the Clearwater County Sherrif’s office. The fire is currently 0% contained.
