FIRE INFORMATION NEWS RELEASE

New Fire Quickly Suppressed – Texas Fire
(Kendrick, ID) – A new fire was reported this afternoon and quickly suppressed by responding air and ground firefighting resources. The fire was first reported shortly before 4:30pm at 20 acres in size and approximately 4 miles northeast of the town of Kendrick. Quick response halted fire spread at approximately 30 acres.
Resources that responded included a 20 person Type 2 hand crew, 5 fire engines, a Type 2 helicopter, helitack firefighters, and rural fire departments. An additional 3 fire engines have been requested for tomorrow to secure the fire perimeter. Current containment is estimated at 20% with full containment expected by the end of the day tomorrow.
