Fire Incident Information - Email Header

Athol, Idaho – Due to an aggressive attack from the sky and hard work on the ground by local collaborators, Idaho Department of Lands officials report the Sarah Loop Fire is holding at an estimated 60 acres. The fire’s perimeter is surrounded by fireline and firehose.

While no homes were lost, two outbuildings unfortunately were reported burned.

Fire officials are grateful the U.S. Forest Service answered the call for help by quickly diverting aircraft from the Ridge Creek Fire, adding to the already aggressive initial attack.

· Use campfires safely by staying clear of flammable debris and burning on mineral soil

· Maintain vehicles and OHVs properly – especially their tires - so you don’t spark a fire

· Secure trailer chains so they don’t drag and cause a fire

· Never park over dry grass because hot exhaust systems can start a fire
