Idaho Forest Products Commission to host official Idaho Arbor Day Celebration
Boise - The public is invited to join local, state and federal partners the State Arbor Day Celebration at the Idaho State Museum Friday, April 28 at 10 a.m.
The event will include presentations, a ceremonial tree planting in Julia Davis Park as well as refreshments and informational booths. Winning photographs of the Arbor Day contest will be featured. Free seedlings will be available.
More than 20,000 seedlings will be given away statewide to celebrate this day, including at every Idaho Department of Lands Supervisory Area Office and staff offices.
The first Arbor Day was held in 1872 in Nebraska. Today, Arbor Day is celebrated in all 50 states and many other countries. Arbor Day is celebrated the last Friday of April.
