Zip, zip.. hooray? Two zip line businesses up for sale
BoiseDev, 11-21-22
A pair of Idaho zip line businesses are up for sale.
Zip line adventure tours have grown in popularity in recent years – catering to tourists who want to hook onto a cable line and glide over trees, lakes, streams and more.
In Idaho, not one but two zip line companies are for sale.
Zip Idaho, which operates near Horseshoe Bend, is hoping for a buyer for the business. Founded in 2007, Zip Idaho hopes to sell for $89,999. It says it cleared $320,000 in gross revenue, with $100,00 in cash flow. The listing says the owner is retiring. The price does not include the land – which would be leased separately for 8% of gross revenue, according to the listing.
“(We have) tree based zip lines and swinging bridges to our loooong faaaast ground-based zip lines and side by side racing lines,” the listing says. “Most recently we have been running the 3 line tour with only the longest and fastest lines available.”
Further north, in Valley County, Zip Idaho is also listed for sale. The owner is seeking $1.2 million, and reports gross revenue of $225,000. Zip McCall operates on 600 acres leased from the Idaho Department of Lands, with a 16-year lease.
“Complete with storage containers, equipment, UTV, solar system for off grid operations, 4 successful seasons under our belt and still growing each year! Realizing a 60-62% net profit margin,” the listing says. “This tour is all the talk of the town and folks travel from the East Coast just to do this tour!”
Proposal to tap endowment funds for school construction gains steam
Idaho Press, 11-22-22
BOISE — Lawmakers on a special interim legislative panel examining funding for school construction in Idaho appear to be coalescing around a proposal to tap the state’s annual endowment payments to schools to create a new funding stream for school facilities, partially relieving local property taxpayers in the process from bearing the full cost of repaying school bonds, as one piece of the solution.
Sen. Jeff Agenbroad, R-Nampa, presented a revised version of the proposal to the panel on Monday, and at the end of the meeting, when each member identified his or her top priorities among the ideas that have been laid out thus far, seven of eight specifically mentioned the endowment plan.

KLEW, 11-18-22
The Good Neighbor Authority is a federal entity that allows the United States Forest Service to reach agreements with state agencies to leverage state resources to increase the pace and scale of restoration of national forest system lands.
There are three of these agreements in the Clearwater Region, one with IDFG, one with the Nez Perce Tribe, and one with the Idaho Department of Lands.
Regional Wildlife Biologist Tara Ball explains some of the areas that Fish and Game can address with their agreement.
