Quinn Fire Update 1 PM PT
Date of Origin: 08/16/2022 17:30 PT
Location: Breaks of Wolf Creek in the Joseph Plains Area
Estimated Size: 450 acres
Containment: 70%
Personnel: 150
Current situation
Yesterday crews successfully completed burn out operations on the south end down into Wolf Creek which held overnight.
Today crews will continue mop up around the fire 100 feet from perimeter.
There are currently no structures threatened, no evacuations in place, and no road closures.
Haines Index (HI), which is a numerical value that indicates the potential for large wildfires to experience extreme fire behavior, has gone down from a five and is currently a three. This means there is a very low potential for an existing fire to become large or exhibit erratic fire behavior.
Resources on the fire remain at 150 personnel including four type 2 initial attack crews, one dozer, four engines. There are no longer air resources engaged.
Cooperating Agencies: Idaho Dept. of Lands, U.S. Forest Service, U.S. Fish & Wildlife, and the Bureau of Land Management.
