Lions Roar Fire 100% contained- IMT transitions back to local IDL fire district
(Priest Lake, Idaho- 8/15/22) The Lions Roar Fire is 100% contained. Excess firefighting resources have been released to be available for other fires or new starts in the area. Backhauling of equipment will continue as crews mop up and command of the fire transfers back to the local Priest Lake IDL fire district.
The public can expect to see occasional smokes from the fire area as internal heavy fuels will continue to smolder.
The North Idaho Type 3 Incident Management Team 2 would like to thank our firefighting cooperators and the public for all the support.
Lion Creek Road #42 and Lucky Creek Road #43 will remain closed until further notice as the local district will continue with mop up and patrol operations.
This will be the last fire update for the #LionsRoarFire unless a significant change in fire behavior occurs.
