Community Wildfire Defense Grant
The Community Wildfire Defense Grant program is funded by the USDA Forest Service through the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and is authorized “to assist at-risk local communities and Indian Tribes with planning for and mitigating against the risk created by wildfire."
Eligible applicants include:
- Local Governments
- Indian Tribes
- Non-profit Organizations (not all inclusive, see guidance for full details)
Projects must take place on private, local government, homeowner association, or state government lands.
The Idaho Department of Lands is not the primary administrator of this grant program but will still be engaged. Specifically, IDL will host a webinar that will cover how it will provide technical assistance to applicants during their application development and submission process.
If an organization is interested in applying for this grant program, IDL strongly encourages participation in the IDL CWDG Technical Assistance webinar that will take place Thursday August 11, 2022 @ 1pm PST via Zoom.
