Controlled Burning: Juniper Near Cow Creek Rd.

November 17, 2021 - #BLMBODFire and Idaho Department of Lands firefighters worked together earlier this week to conduct controlled burning of juniper piles in the vicinity of Cow Creek Road, located about 9 miles NE of Jordan Valley, OR. They took advantage of good burning conditions on Monday, knowing that rains would be coming on Tuesday. The joint force first burned piles that are part of the BLM’s Soda Fire Fuel Breaks project before moving over to state lands to burn piles as part of their own juniper reduction efforts.
