Associated Logging Contractors Profile Massive Endowment Timber, Three-Log Load

Sharing a post from the Associated Logging Contractors November 12, 2021 - This whopping three-log load from Idaho's school endowment lands -- including an Engelman Spruce almost 7 feet in diameter -- had a gross scale of 11,400 board feet! Kudos to our ALC members working the Greasewood harvest, including longtime ALC member Tom Mahon Logging, Inc., and skilled sawyer Jesse Green. Dennis Lakey of Council hauled the logs on his Western Star truck purchased from ALC member Idaho Truck Sales of Lewiston. The truck made a stop at Council Elementary School for a picture with students in grades 3 through 6. Proceeds from sales on endowment land help fund Idaho's public K-12 schools, and the timber sale is part of IDL’s overall plan to manage on a rotational and sustainable long-term basis which is also set in law.
