Where the Idaho construction industry is finding its workforce

The construction industry in Idaho is a leader in workforce expansion and has seen significant growth over the past decade. From 2014 to 2023, employment has almost doubled and added nearly 31,000 workers. This was despite being interrupted by a short recession. For industry growth to have occurred, there had to be available workers to meet the demand.
Idaho's September unemployment rate increases to 3.6%
Idaho’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 3.6% in September, up from 3.5% in August.
The state’s labor force increased by 4,019 people (0.4%) to 989,744 while the labor force participation rate — the percentage of people 16 years of age or older who are either employed or looking for work — increased from 63.1% to 63.2% between August and September.
