AmeriCorps Member Spotlight
Samantha Fraser
Samantha Fraser is passionate about working with kids in the classroom. Her main focus has been delivering STEM programing to students in Elmore County through the University of Idaho 4-H AmeriCorps program. This includes teaching at an elementary school, middle school, charter school and youth center.
"I am proud of myself because I got into another school for the outreach program," Fraser said. "This week I am starting to teach STEM lessons in the first grade class which I am excited about."
She is currently on her second term of service, having previously served in Lemhi County. Fraser is a creative problem solver in the classroom, and her lesson plans inspire kids. One said he wants to be an engineer after building a gingerbread house.
Many, including site supervisor Nadine Cook, have nothing but great things to say about Fraser. And she said the number of youth attending these programs has increased.
"Samantha is excellent at researching and planning activities that the youth love, and want to participate in," Cook said. "She has been a huge asset to Elmore County's 4-H Youth Development program and will be greatly missed when her time is up."
