Construction Update
State and Pierce Park
The Ada County Highway District (ACHD) has started construction at the State Street and Pierce Park intersection. Work is expected to be complete in Spring 2026.
Construction Update
The State Street & Pierce Park project moves into the next phase of construction next week.
- Traffic will be shifted to the south to allow the contractor to rebuild the north side of State Street and the west side of Pierce Park.
-
On the night of March 19th, eastbound traffic will be shifted to the south. On the night of March 20th, westbound traffic will be shifted to the south.
- Work includes re-striping the roadway and adjusting the signal at State Street and Pierce Park.
- Work hours are from 8pm to 6am and drivers should expect delays.
- After traffic is shifted, there will be two lanes of traffic in each direction on State Street during peak hours and non-working hours (non-working hours are nights and weekends). Single lane closures are allowed on State Street during the daytime, during non-peak hours.
- Left turns will be eliminated through the work zone. The left-turn lane from eastbound State Street onto Pierce Park will be eliminated during construction.
- Pierce Park will have one lane in each direction. There are currently two southbound lanes, one for turning right onto westbound State Street and one for turning left onto eastbound State Street. During construction, there will be one southbound lane from which drivers can turn either left or right.
- The speed limit will be reduced to 30 MPH through the work zone.
- Pedestrian access will remain open through the work zone.
- Business access will remain open for all businesses in the work zone.
- Construction work is weather dependent.
