ACHD Commissioners Approve Budget for Upcoming Fiscal Year

ADA COUNTY — The Ada County Highway District Commission has approved the Fiscal Year 2025 budget.

Commissioners, on a 3-2 decision, approved the $233.5 million budget at the August 28 public hearing. The budget includes projects to increase safety and mobility, and also provides for the maintenance and operation of Ada County’s roads, sidewalks, traffic signals, and related infrastructure.

The budget includes a $115 million capital program for over 100 projects. ACHD runs on a fiscal year that begins in October.

By a 3-2 vote, the Commission approved an increase to the property tax certification of about $4.3 million in accordance with state statute, to address continued increases in construction costs and sustained county-wide growth, for a total certification of $51.5 million. For a home valued at around $500,000, the increase amounts to about $12 a year.

"Formulating the budget is a monumental task, and our team worked diligently to present a balanced and measured budget," said Commission President Alexis Pickering. "We are excited to put these dollars to work in continuing to increase safety for all those who use our transportation network."

A recording of the public hearing is available on ACHD’s website. The full budget packet will also be posted to ACHD's website once completed.
