ADA COUNTY — The Ada County Highway District has selected Thomas Otte to round out its executive team as the new Deputy Director of Operations.
A graduate from Boise State University, Otte has a long history of operations management within Ada County.
Otte began his career with Republic Services, where he supervised operations for six years. He also served as the Director of Maintenance for Nexgen Logistics, LLC out of Portland for a year before.
Over the past five years, Otte has gained vast experience in government operations through his work as the Solid Waste Coordinator at the City of Meridian and most recently as the Deputy Director of Solid Waste at the Ada County Landfill, managing day-to-day operations at the more than 2,500 acre site.
"I am thrilled to join team ACHD and add to the incredible efforts of the organization,” said Otte. “I look forward to working with highly trained professionals to elevate operations and continue to serve the good people of Ada County.”
Otte's position is part of ACHD's organizational changes that were announced earlier this year, with the appointment of Ryan Head as the new ACHD Director. As the Deputy Director of this newly re-organized Operations division, Otte will oversee three major departments: Environmental, Maintenance, and Traffic Operations.
“Tom’s breadth of knowledge in operations and experience managing teams with diverse skillsets and needs made him a great fit for this role,” said ACHD Director, Ryan Head. “We are eager to benefit from his fresh perspective and are confident his leadership will drive us forward.”
Otte will begin in his new role at the District on August 26.
