Lane Closures on Idaho Street Thursday

BOISE — Out of an abundance of caution, ACHD will close two lanes of Idaho Street between 5^th and 6^th streets beginning tomorrow (Thursday) to check, and if necessary, repair an area under observation.

While there are currently no known structural issues, ACHD has been closely monitoring the area after noticing a bump and depression in the roadway. Due to a history of geothermal leaks in the area, ACHD is taking every precaution to ensure the roadway remains structurally sound for commuters.

Beginning Thursday morning, crews will dig out the area to take a closer look below the surface. Assuming no major issues are discovered, repairs should be complete and the roadway reopened by the end of the day.

These lane closures are near an existing closure on Idaho Street. While one lane will remain open, commuters should expect congestion and delays and are asked to use an alternate route if possible. ACHD would like to thank the public in advance for their patience and caution in the area as crews work to ensure safe passage for all.
