Ada County Highway District
Launches New Website
ADA COUNTY — The Ada County Highway District is furthering its commitment of “connecting you to more” with the launch of a new website.
Staff members worked for more than a year creating an intuitive website for the public, coinciding with ACHD’s new brand identity and public engagement platform for projects, EngagementHQ. The website incorporates ACHD’s new brand identity.
“The new website is built with residents in mind,” said Deputy Director of Communications, Shandy Lam. “This improved tool will more easily connect our customers with the many services ACHD provides.”
Visitors will notice some changes, especially on the homepage. On the newly revamped ACHD website, visitors will find a new navigation bar that organizes ACHD’s services and information by what visitors are looking to find. As part of the development, members of the public were invited to test the new navigation. The findings of those tests helped guide the efforts of developing the new site.
The “My Commute” section features tools, resources, and information to aid in your commute, no matter how you move about the community. Here you will find ACHD’s traffic cameras, Roadwork In The Area (RITA) Map, bike map, and more. The “Projects” tab gives visitors information on current and planned ACHD projects, as well as resources for agencies and developers who work in ACHD’s right of way. The “About ACHD” tab connects visitors with ACHD’s Board of Commissioners and advisory committees, as well as more information about ACHD staff. Within the “Community Resources” tab, viewers will find information on the agency’s street services, such as chip seal and street sweeping, along with educational resources and ways to connect with ACHD.
The website also features a robust search function, and several pages have a Frequently Asked Questions section to help visitors find important information.
Though the layout and navigation of the website is different, ACHD’s commitment to transparency and access to information remains the same. Most webpages have been migrated from the former website, meaning citizens can still access the same information as before. Important documents, including ACHD’s policy manual, budget, and Integrated Five Year Work Plan (IFYWP) are still accessible on the new platform.
Improvements continue to be made on the website as ACHD and the public explore the new platform. Those with suggestions for improvement can submit feedback through a form on the top of each webpage.
ACHD’s TellUs system is also still available for submitting feedback, as well as reporting roadway issues and inquiring about roadwork and projects.
“It’s important that residents can stay informed and engage with their local government agencies,” Lam said. “This upgraded site complements our suite of communications tools, allowing us to better connect with residents, visitors, and community partners.”
