Construction is underway on the new Terrell Mill Roller Park, a project that will revitalize the existing skate park while expanding recreational opportunities for the community.
The project includes the addition of a new skate park area, a paved pump track, and improved pathways to enhance accessibility throughout the site. The Iowa City City Council awarded the construction contract to Vieth Construction Corporation. This project is being completed with the support of $250,000 from a Federal Land and Water Conservation Fund grant.
Construction is expected to continue through early fall 2026. Throughout the project, access to the existing skate park will remain open, allowing residents to continue using the facility during improvements.
The Terrell Mill Roller Park project reflects Iowa City Parks and Recreation Department's ongoing commitment to providing safe, accessible, and modern recreational spaces for residents of all ages and skill levels.
