School is back in full swing, and we’re excited to offer a variety of fun and enriching after-school programs for kids in Kindergarten through 6th grade! Whether your child is into chess, coding, Pokémon, or art, there’s something for everyone. It’s the perfect opportunity to learn new skills, make friends, and dive into exciting hands-on activities that make after-school time both fun and rewarding!

WEDNESDAY
Girls Who Code Club is for girls and non-binary youth in grades 3-5 who are interested in learning how to code. No previous experience necessary! Participate in coding challenges using a platform called Scratch, and learn about the design of video games, digital art, and robots!
Coding for Grades 3-5. Runs from Sept. 4 to Nov. 20. No session on Oct. 9.
THURSDAY
Totally Tweens Thursdays, 4-5 p.m., Storytime Room Special programs aimed at independent learners in grades 3-6. Leave parents and younger siblings at the door, and do your own thing! Learn new skills, make new friends, and have fun at the library.
Latinx Heritage Month takes place every year from September 15 to October 15. This month celebrates the diverse cultures and contributions of the Latinx community, which includes people of Cuban, Mexican, Puerto Rican, South or Central American, or other Spanish-speaking origins.
The celebration begins on September 15, marking the anniversary of independence for several Latin American countries: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua (all on September 15), followed by Mexico on September 16 and Chile on September 18.

Oktoberfest Soda Party Sept. 20, 5:30-6:30 p.m., Meeting Room A Families are welcome to join us for a family-friendly Oktoberfest celebration featuring "Guess the Soda" games, Lebkuchenherz (gingerbread heart cookie) decorating, Polka dancing, pretzel necklace-making, temporary tattoos, some fun Oktoberfest-style games, and more! This is a drop-in event with lots of activity options!
