Shop an assortment of fiction, nonfiction, cookbooks, young adult, juvenile fiction, children’s books, DVDs, and audiobooks. All sales support the Library's programs, collections, and facilities. Join the Iowa City Public Library in commemorating Juneteenth, a holiday marking the day the Emancipation Proclamation reached enslaved Black people in Galveston, Texas, on June 19, 1865. Mayor Bruce Teague officially recognized Juneteenth in Iowa City in 2021.

The Iowa City Public Library Bookmobile will be popping up at the Iowa City Farmers Market from 8 to 11 a.m. on select Saturdays this summer. Various activities will be offered, making this a fun Farmers Market stop for all. The Iowa City Farmers Market is located at the Chauncey Swan parking ramp at 405 E Washington Street.
The Bookmobile will be open for browsing and holds pick up with your ICPL library card. Don’t have a card? You can sign up for a library card on the Bookmobile when you bring your photo ID with an example of your current address. The ICPL Bookmobile is wheelchair accessible.
The Iowa City Public Library has a series of events tailored for individuals of all ages who are neurodivergent or who experience intellectual or developmental disabilities. Join us for the "All Abilities Club", where inclusivity is at the heart of our activities. Enjoy smaller crowds, lower lighting, and a casual, laid-back atmosphere.
There's still time to join the 2024 Summer Reading Program at the Iowa City Public Library (ICPL)! Running from May 28 to August 10, this program is open to readers of all ages and is completely free.

All participants will earn a free prize book donated by the IowaCity Friends Foundation upon turning in a completed game card at the Library or Bookmobile by August 10. Once you reach your milestones, choose from our selection of prize books. Special rewards are available for younger readers: children under 12 can earn a stylish SummerReading t-shirt, and passes donated by the Blank Park Zoo and The Iowa Children's Museum. Toddlers ages 3 and under can receive a cute dog stuffed animal! All prizes will be available while supplies last.
