During this session, attendees will learn the basics of modern digital single-lens reflex (DSLR) cameras, their different modes and uses, and how to optimally set up your camera for the type of photography you wish to pursue.

Charlie Pott, a photographer based in Iowa City, holds a BFA in photography from the University of Kansas. Currently, he is teaching and pursuing an MFA in photography at the University of Iowa.

Don't miss the Iowa City Parks and Recreation Department's Annual Freeze Fest! Freeze Fest is a free indoor/outdoor learning event for families. Activities will include winter hiking, survival skill building, crafts, and bird watching. Weather permitting, ice skating, snowshoeing, and ice fishing will be included. All are welcome; children must be accompanied by an adult.

Registration for the Iowa City Public Library's Winter Reading Program is still underway. Children aged three and above are encouraged to read and log 20 books to qualify for a prize, while adults can participate in Book BINGO.

Every Tuesday, Jan. 30 to April 16 (excluding March 12), from 1 to 2 p.m., older adults can get one-on-one help with tech questions related to using smartphones, apps, or general software. Chat with University of Iowa student volunteers from the UI Device Advice student organization.
Their mission is to shrink the digital divide by educating older adults on today's technology while creating meaningful connections.

We're looking for donations of gently used books in good condition, audiobooks on CD, CDs, and DVDs in their original cases. Additionally, we welcome magazines, LP records, historical materials related to Iowa City, as well as complete puzzles and games.
