At 8:43 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 18, 2024, Iowa City Police were informed of an agitated individual making threats over the phone to a specific Mercy Hospital clinic. Iowa City Police are working with Mercy to assess the threat.
In accordance with their protocols, Mercy Hospitals locked down their facilities in response to the threat. Regina Schools have also locked down. Iowa City Police have not received any information that a threat has been made against Regina Schools.
This incident remains under investigation and no other information is available at this time.
