Presenting the Children’s Winter Book Reading Program: Burrow More Books!
Registration for the Iowa City Public Library’s Winter Reading Program begins December 16 in person or online.
Available for young readers ages three through 12, the program will help children pass the winter hours by burrowing into a good book when it’s too cold to play outdoors. It will run from December 16 through February 16.
Kids who read and track 20 books on their reading log or online will receive a coupon to Spare Me Bowling in Iowa City, and a hot cocoa mug or a new book of their choice, while supplies last, and one per child please.

The Iowa City Public Library is exploring ideas to create literacy kits that you can check out to assist with your child's early literacy skills. The backpacks would include a book, activity worksheets, and a toy or game to assist with developing literacy skills to prepare children for school.
