In past years, we've seen many people convert old family videos to DVD or scan old slides as a gift. Just in time for your own special gift-giving, join us for a tour of the Library's Digital Media Lab with a focus on the equipment for digitizing VHS tapes, audio cassettes, 8mm or Super 8 film, slides, photos, and negatives.
The Digital Media Lab is for self-directed projects, but during the tour, we'll talk about your interests and provide a starting point for any particular project you have in mind. Bring your questions!

The Iowa City Public Library Friends Foundation (ICPLFF) will host a Book Sale Pop-Up Shop at the Iowa City Holiday Market from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2023. The event will take place at the Robert A. Lee Recreation Center, located at 220 S. Gilbert St.
This event is a prime opportunity for community members to find a great gift while supporting the Iowa City Public Library (ICPL). Volunteers from The Book End, ICPLFF's bookstore situated on the Library's second floor, will be on hand to share information about the store's offerings and the vital role of the ICPLFF in fostering community support through volunteers and donors.
Proceeds from the book sale will directly benefit the Library, thanks to the efforts of The Book End Committee of the ICPLFF.

Online sales made before midnight on November 12 at Prairie Lights Books will also be included--just type "ICPL library sale" in the comment box.

For ICPL resident cardholders, you'll receive 16 tickets each month, allowing you to explore a wide range of films and documentaries. It's important to note that your ticket count resets at the beginning of each month, and unused tickets do not carry over.
To manage your movie nights effectively, keep an eye on your monthly ticket count in the top-right corner of the Kanopy homepage.
