Community invited to attend Truth and Reconciliation workshops Aug. 1-3
The City of Iowa City’s Ad Hoc Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) invites the community to attend three workshops being led by Think Peace: Learning and Support Hub on Aug. 1-3, 2023. Think Peace is one of four consultants the City contracted with to facilitate the work of the TRC. The three-day sessions are part of phase one – public educational training. Think Peace will introduce key elements regarding truth and reconciliation processes, trauma-informed perspectives, and comparisons of truth commission experiences in the US and abroad.
The workshops will take place at the Iowa City Senior Center, 28 S. Linn St. Those unable to attend in-person sessions have the option to participate virtually via Zoom. If you have no computer or smartphone, or a computer without a microphone, you can call in by phone by dialing (312) 626-6799 and entering the meeting ID when prompted.
Please note each session has a different Zoom registration link.
