Honoring the Fourth of July: Iowa City Public Library and Bookmobile to Be Closed on July 4
The Iowa City Public Library and its popular mobile service, the Bookmobile, will close on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, in observance of the Fourth of July holiday.
Library cardholders are reminded that the Digital Library is always open and accessible, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This constant availability ensures that the literary world is always at your fingertips, and you can continue to enjoy your favorite books and resources anytime, anywhere.
The Digital Library is available to cardholders residing in Iowa City, Hills, University Heights, Lone Tree, and rural Johnson County, offering a wide array of digital resources including:
Libby: Cardholders can stream or download from our expansive collection of ebooks, audiobooks, and magazines. With hundreds of titles spanning various genres, there's a book or magazine for every type of reader.
Kanopy: Our patrons can access an impressive catalog of over 26,000 films and documentaries. Stream these titles directly to your TV, mobile device, or computer for an enriching viewing experience.
