The Storytime on Thursday, November 17 at 10:30 a.m. in the Storytime Room will feature dinosaurs for DINOvember and conclude with a fun, hands-on dino activity!
Create miniature worlds for miniature dinosaurs at November’s Family Night! Caregivers and kids can work together to hot glue Jurassic materials in small containers. These cute dinosaur dioramas won't go extinct! Join us on Saturday, November 19, from 4 to 5 p.m. in the Storytime Room.
School is out on Wednesday, November 23. Join us at the Library from 1 to 2:30 p.m. to watch The Good Dinosaur while making dinosaur fossil mug cakes! Bury edible fossils in your cake and dig them up while you eat!
Join us Wednesday, November 30 from 4 to 5 p.m. in the Storytime Room where we will read "Dinosaurs From Head to Tail" by Stacey Roderick. This fun, guessing game, book will test our knowledge of dinosaurs! Then we will use watercolors and crayons to create dinosaur silhouette art!
Tooth Fairy Storytime with the UIowa College of Dentistry's Women in Dentistry
The University of Iowa chapter of the American Association of Women Dentists will host a Tooth Fairy Storytime at the Library on Saturday, November 12 from 10:30 to 11 a.m.! Dental students and the tooth fairy will share stories and hands-on activities to promote oral health in the community!

Meet up with ICPL Children's librarians at the University of Iowa's new Stanley Museum of Art for a very special Storytime! Enjoy listening to picture books celebrating the power of art and learn about artists who are part of the Stanley's inaugural exhibition! We'll start with stories in the museum lobby from 10:30 to 11 a.m. and conclude with a scavenger hunt through the museum as we see world-class art up close. Get a set of colored pencils for finishing the hunt!
All are welcome, but this Storytime may be best suited for preschoolers and up. The Stanley Museum of Art is located at 160 W. Burlington Street in Iowa City. Admission is free.
Come to the Library to create handmade gift items for the holidays at Alternative Black Friday. Self-guided, drop-in stations in the Storytime Room will be available on Friday, November 25 from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. Find materials to create watercolor bookmarks, tissue paper votive holders, and stamped cloth napkins.
The Iowa City Public Library will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wed, Nov 23, 2022, and closed on Thursday, Nov. 24, for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Kanopy Kidsprovides access to a collection of films and TV series that inspire and inform, and help children develop social emotional skills and learn about a variety of topics, such as history, science, and foreign languages. Kanopy Kids offers a diverse selection of educational and entertaining content, including movies, TV series, animated storybooks, live-action features, and animated favorites.
On Libby you can stream or download up to five ebooks, audiobooks, and magazines at a time on your device or computer. Many of the kid's picture books or readers have narration that can be turned on.
