Would Homework Help help? Want to practice reading skills by reading aloud in an encouraging environment? Drop in to the Children's Room between 5 and 7 p.m. every Wednesday this fall. You will receive support from a preservice teacher in the UI College of Education.
This program is for school-aged (kindergarten through 6th grade) children only. Please bring something to work on with the tutor. Children may be limited to one 20-minute session with the tutor if others are waiting.

Do you love the movie Encanto, which takes place in Colombia? Are you ready to sing songs with other Encanto lovers? Celebrate Latinx Heritage Month with karaoke, a special Colombian drink, and by creating your version of the doors from the movie Encanto, with your very own portrait and powers.

Halloween is upon us, and it's time to show off your lewk! ICPL is teaming up with Studio 13 again to enjoy some festive and colorful storytelling! Join us for a special Halloween-themed Drag Storytime with some of Iowa City's finest drag queens and kings! Wear your Halloween costume or whatever dress-up clothes you'd like, because who doesn’t love an extra reason to dress up?

Join us for a special Spanish bilingual Storytime series at Wilson's Orchard on the 3rd Friday of the month at 10:30 a.m.! All ages are welcome! Please bring a blanket, chairs, or use the picnic tables available. The Bookmobile will also be on site at Wilson's from 10:30- 11:30 a.m. You can find fall reads, check out materials, register for a library card, or pick up holds!
We will meet in front of the farm store for Storytime, then feel free to explore the many offerings of the orchard! In the event of inclement weather, we will have Storytime in the enclosed porch area. Next month’s Storytime will be on November 17.

Book to Art Club will feature Sugar Skulls this month to celebrate El Día de Muertos, or Day of the Dead, a Latinx holiday to remember the lives of departed family and friends. First, we will read about the holiday with Roseanne Greenfield Thong's illustrated story, then we will create custom sugar skull sun catchers that you can design, color, and cut out!
Book to Art Club is the last Wednesday of every month for preschool through 2nd Grade. Each month we read a picture book and create custom art inspired by the story!
