"I don't know what I think until I write it down." - Joan Didion
Are you the same? Let's gather on Zoom for another session of guided journaling where everyone is welcome, whether you regularly write in a journal, haven't done it in years, or never have tried.
Generating random prompts from blindly picking words in a dictionary and other books was fun and surprisingly meaningful last time, so we'll continue with more. Other ways of getting us thinking about our experiences and the world around us will be offered, too.
We'll spend several minutes writing on each prompt. Your writing will be private, but there will be a chance after each prompt to share anything interesting that came up.
If you like writing but never really make the time for it, this is for you!
Please register here to receive the login information for this Zoom session. And register separately for the other sessions in this short series: July 28, August 25 and September 22.
Suitable for adults and teens.
We would like to remind you that if you have students in K-12 at home, their ICCSD student ID also functions as a library card for the Iowa City, Coralville, and North Liberty public libraries. At each library, the card - called an AIM card - can be used to check out books or books on CD. Students can have three books checked out at any one time on their AIM card, and there are no late fines or fees for lost items.
Students can use their AIM card to access e-books or e-audiobooks online, with no limit on the number of items they can check out. It's easy - there's no password required to log in. They just need the number on the front of their AIM card! Check out the video for a quick step-by-step tutorial on how to get started. Students can read e-books and listen to e-audiobooks on either a computer or mobile device (both are explained in the video). If you've lost your AIM card or have trouble, visit the Ask Us page, and we can help.
Thousands of kid's titles are available online to keep kids reading for enjoyment and education.
If you’re searching for your next item to read, watch, or listen to, look no further than The Book End on the second floor of the Library for an ever-changing assortment of bargain books, DVD’s, and audiobooks!
