Tuesday, July 12, 2022 - 2 to 3 p.m. Storytime Room
Explore with some clay, and make a small project like a keychain or sculpture. Elementary-age kids are invited to join us to learn a little bit about a fun skill or hobby that maybe they haven’t tried before! We have experts from the community here to teach you the basics! While supplies last.

Visit the Iowa City Municipal Airport, meet author Jill Esbaum, and learn about a little-known historical event that took place right here in Iowa City! Jill will read aloud her new, nonfiction picture book "Jack Knight's Brave Flight: How One Gutsy Pilot Saved the U.S. Air Mail Service."
Sidekick Coffee & Books will be on hand with copies of the book for purchase. Tour the airport, look at the airport's training planes up close and enjoy a plane-shaped cookie at the outdoor runway viewing area.
The Iowa City Municipal Airport is located at 1801 S. Riverside Dr. Storytime will take place from 10:30-11 a.m. in the 2nd-floor conference room, followed by the book signing, with the opportunity to explore the airport, runway viewing area, and view planes until noon.

Drag Family Storytime is back! We are teaming up with local drag performers from Studio 13 to present a special Drag Storytime Party! Fun costumes are encouraged and we will have silly props available as we read LGBTQ stories and sing and dance with some local drag kings and queens. Stick around for a specially curated dance party playlist and some colorful crafting! This Storytime will feature Kalliope Belle, Spooki Santos, Valencia Van De Camp, and Paris Jackson!
Wednesday, July 27 5 to 8 p.m. City Park Pool, 200 Park Rd
For our July Family Night we are partnering with Iowa City Parks and Rec for a free evening of open swim at the City Park Pool from 5-8 p.m. Kids are invited to participate in a swimming themed Storytime at 5:30 p.m. with craft afterwards and all ages can enjoy the pool for FREE until 8 p.m.
Throughout the month of July, you will be able to enjoy the story, "Jabari Jumps" by Gala Cornwall at our Bookwalk in Willow Creek Park (1117 Teg Dr). Get outdoors to take a walk and read a book in one of our City's great parks!
Track your reading during the Summer Reading Program through August 14, 2022. Registration can be completed in person at the Library or Bookmobile, online via Beanstack, or by printing out a PDF of the Summer Reading log.
Participation is free and available for all ages, babies through adults. The Library will award prizes in August by drawing winners from among all completed entries submitted online or at the Library or Bookmobile by August 14.
