The summer Bookmobile route and schedule kicks off on Tuesday, May 31, and runs through Friday, August 19, 2022.
Services will be unavailable on June 20 (Juneteenth) and July 4 (Independence Day).

Connect with friends, family and neighbors this summer at Party in the Park.
These events occur weekly, on Thursdays, from 6:30-8 p.m. Bring your lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy live music, games, the ICPL Bookmobile, arts and crafts, and treats. Find a map and schedule of the weekly events here.
Join us for Stories in the Park all summer long! Stories in the Park, an outdoor storytime experience will be offered at 10:30 a.m. on:
Mondays at Willow Creek Park, 1117 Teg Dr
Tuesdays at the Pedestrian Mall, outside the Library, 123 S Linn St
Wednesdays at Wetherby Park, 2400 Taylor Dr
Fridays at Mercer Park, 1317 Dover St
On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, the Bookmobile will be in attendance from 10:30-11:30 a.m. for mobile library service. In the event of rain, Storytime on Tuesdays will take place in Meeting Room A, inside the Library. On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, rainy weather will result in storytime cancellation, but Bookmobile service will continue. Each week will feature a new Storytime experience, so be sure to visit your preferred location each week and enjoy this seasonal delight!
Join ICPL staff for a special summer series of Bookmobile visits and Storytimes out at Wilson's Orchard on the third Friday of each month from June through August! The Bookmobile will be on site on June 16 from 1:15-2:15 p.m., with Storytime for all ages to take place from 1:30-2:00 p.m.. Please bring a blanket or chairs or use the picnic tables available.
While you're there, be sure to visit the Bookmobile to check out materials, register for a library card, sign up for the Summer Reading Program or collect prizes and pick up holds from downtown!
We will meet in front of the farm store for Storytime, and then feel free to explore the many offerings of the Orchard! Wilson's is located at 4823 Dingleberry Rd NE in Iowa City. In the event of inclement weather, we will cancel Storytime, but the Bookmobile will still be on site.
Iowa City Public Library Bookmobile will be popping up at the Iowa City Farmers Market from 8 to 11 a.m. on select Saturdays this summer. The Bookmobile offers mobile library services and will be open for browsing and holds pick up with your ICPL library card.
The Bookmobile will be at the Farmers Market every Saturday from June 11 to August 20, except June 18.
Staff can also provide a free pass for Iowa City Transit buses through the downtown Iowa City interchange when you present your ICPL card.
Celebrate Iowa City LGBTQIA+ Pride with a picnic at the Pool from 5 - 8 p.m. on Friday, June 17th.
Visit the ICPL Bookmobile at the annual free Pride Picnic at Upper City Park in Iowa City. This is an all ages, family-friendly event with entertainment and food for all.
The Bookmobile will be on-site for mobile library service to honor this holiday.
The Summer Reading Program takes place from June 1 to August 14, 2022. Registration can be completed starting June 1, in person at the Library or Bookmobile, online via Beanstack, or by printing out a PDF of the Summer Reading log. Participation is free and available for all ages, babies through adults. The Library will award prizes in August by drawing winners from among all completed entries submitted online or at the Library or Bookmobile by August 14.
