Jenny from the African American Museum of Iowa in Cedar Rapids will visit the Library for an afterschool program for kids in preschool through second grade. Learn about four African American scientists who made life better for everyone, and then create a hero’s cape that shows your superpower.
Learn about black culture and history with books that celebrate key African American figures. Stick around after Storytime for some animated picture book shorts as well!
Saturday, Feb. 12, 4 to 6 p.m. in the Storytime Room
Children of all ages and their families are invited to come to the Storytime Room with a goal of making homemade valentines for all of the residents of a local senior living community. We will have all of the creative supplies needed and a bit of information about the residents to help you make a custom valentine from the heart that will be sure to make someone's Valentine's Day extra special this year! This year we will be sending valentines to Bickford Cottage in Iowa City! The more the merrier for Share the Love!
