Throughout February, ICPL will be celebrating Black History Month by recognizing the important contributions and achievements of African Americans throughout our nation's history.
We will offer a variety of programs, events, and displays for children, teens, adults, and families.
Library supporters should mark their calendars for Friday, Jan. 28, 2022 and make a plan to shop in person or online at Sidekick Coffee & Books. A generous percentage of sales will be donated to the Iowa City Public Library Friends Foundation to help grow the Iowa City Public Library.
Purchase of books, gifts, toys, coffee, pastries, and ice cream will be included in this fundraiser (gift cards are not included).
Sidekick Coffee & Books is located in the One University Place building at 1310 1/2 Melrose Ave. in Iowa City, and is open 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Orders can also be placed online at sidekickonline.shopsettings.com for in-store pickup.

In the fight surrounding Roe v. Wade, it's easy to lose sight of the many other ways that access to reproductive healthcare can be limited or denied. Two Obermann scholars, Lina-Maria Murillo and Natalie Fixmer-Oraiz, talk with local healthcare providers and researchers to provide a fuller landscape of reproductive justice in the Midwest.

Our new catalog has been live on our website since last fall and allows library users to search our collection as well as manage their individual library accounts.
