With the weather getting colder and the holidays approaching, you can cross holiday shopping off your list and support ICPL at the same time! For the avid reader in your life, consider a surprise Bunch of Books in their favorite genre available in the Book End Store and online. If they are more into artwork and crafts from local artists, check out our online Arts & Crafts Bazaar featuring countless, unique items from local artists here in the Iowa City area. Proceeds from both of these events will support ICPL. Check them out today!
Need to wrap some holiday gifts in secret? Someplace where prying eyes can’t see? Let ICPL help! We have a Drop-in DIY Gift Wrapping station available in the Digital Media Lab on the Library’s second floor through December 23. The wrapping station is available from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. (except during scheduled classes.)
Assorted holiday gift wraps, gift bags, ribbons, and bows are available – or you can bring your own. We have lots of scissors, tape, and plenty of space for you to wrap your gifts in peace. Limit of five gifts per person, please.

Local Libraries LIT welcomes Jennine Capó Crucet for a stimulating virtual program. As the daughter of Cuban immigrants, Jennine Capó Crucet was the first person in her family to be born in the United States. Her writing is full of biting humor as she ardently depicts her time as a first-generation college student, as well as the immigrant experience. To register go to icpl.org/local-libraries-lit.

If you missed Olivia's previous posts, you can visit her blog page and learn about how the Great Depression affected library services.
