In-store: Find specially wrapped Surprise Book Bunches ready to purchase, identified by genre of book. Book Bunches will have five adult books for $20, or five children’s books for $10. As a bonus, each Book Bunch will qualify for five punches on the Book End’s customer rewards card! Ask for one when shopping at the Book End.
Online: For the same prices, Book Bunches can be purchased online. Simply email thebookend@icpl.org with the subject line “Surprise Bunch” and include what genre—fiction, nonfiction, or childrens—to assemble. Pick up from the Library, ask about free limited local delivery, or have your book bunch mailed for an additional fee. The last day for online orders is Friday, Dec. 17, 2021.

The Book End store on the Library’s second floor is open weekdays again. Volunteers are eager to welcome customers back into the store to find their next read.

Be on the lookout for a link to our online Arts & Crafts Bazaar in the coming week which will offer handmade items from local artists and crafters in the community for purchase just in time for the holidays! ICPL is participating in a winter clothing drive being hosted by the Iowa City and University of Iowa police departments. We're taking new and gently used coats, gloves, hats, scarves, socks, snow pants, and snow boots in sizes ranging from newborn to adult! Head into the Library lobby to drop off donations in the collection box to help keep Iowa City warm this winter! This drive will run through Thursday Dec. 9, 2021.
Free COVID-19 test kits provided by Johnson County Public Health are available for the public to pick up from the Iowa City Public Library and the ICPL Bookmobile, while supplies last. Please take only what you immediately need.
How to Obtain a Test Kit
At Iowa City Public Library, 123 S Linn Street, a pick-up station is located just inside the main entrance past the bulletin boards. Kits are available at the Downtown Library during regular hours while supplies last. Kits are also on the ICPL Bookmobile during its operational hours. The Iowa City Public Library will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wed, Nov 24, 2021, and the Library will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 25, for the Thanksgiving holiday.
The Bookmobile will be closed on Wednesday, Nov. 24 through Friday, Nov. 26 in observance of Thanksgiving
