AM & PM Eastside Loop routes to resume service effective Monday, August 23, 2021
Effective on Monday, August 23, 2021 Iowa City Transit will resume operating the AM and PM Eastside Loop routes for the 2021-2022 academic year. As a reminder, a face covering that covers the nose and mouth must be worn in order to ride Iowa City Transit buses.
The AM Eastside Loop route will begin service at 7:35 AM at the Sycamore Mall (stop 7135) each morning when school is in session. The AM Eastside Loop will arrive at Southeast Junior High School at approximately 7:38AM, City High School at approximately 7:44AM, Regina Education Center at approximately 7:47AM, , Southeast Junior High again at 8:33AM, City High School again at 8:40AM and finally Regina Education Center at 8:44AM.
The PM Eastside Loop route will begin service at the Regina Education Center (stop 7419) located on Rochester Avenue at 4:05PM on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday and at 3:05PM each Thursday due to early release. The PM Eastside Loop route will arrive at City High School (stop 7602) at approximately 4:10PM and at Southeast Junior High at approximately 4:16PM (one hour earlier on Wednesdays).
Due to ongoing construction at the intersection of American Legion Road and Scott Boulevard, both the AM and PM East Side Loop bus routes will detour using Muscatine Avenue, 1st Avenue and Court Street to access stops. The detour for the AM East Side Loop will not service the bus stops at Scott Boulevard and Muscatine Avenue (1209), and Muscatine Avenue @ Autumn Park (7267) and Muscatine Avenue and Dover Street (7268). The detour for the PM East Side Loop will cause the bus stop located at Scott Boulevard and Sunrise Terrace (8274) to be out of service.
