Public invited to review and comment on transportation projects through an online interactive map

The Metropolitan Planning Organization of Johnson County (MPOJC) is in the process of developing its next long-range transportation plan, Future Forward 2050: Connecting Communities. This plan will help guide metropolitan area decision-making regarding transportation improvements and investments extending 25 years into the future. The plan considers all modes of transportation and makes specific recommendations for transportation projects and funding for the communities of Iowa City, Coralville, North Liberty, Tiffin, University Heights and portions of unincorporated Johnson County.

MPOJC is seeking input on capital transportation infrastructure projects (road, bridge, and bike/ pedestrian) proposed for 2022-2050 as part of the Long Range Transportation Plan. These projects are those for which communities anticipate the use of federal funds. Projects that receive federal funding must be included in the Plan. Public comments will help inform the development of the Future Forward 2050 Transportation Plan and will be used at a series of virtual workshops to be held in April/ May.
