Looking for fun fall activities for the littles in your life this month? Set a goal of completing ICPL's October BINGO card to receive a button, Aspen Leaf Frozen Yogurt coupon and a bookmark*! Return your completed BINGO (traditional BINGO rules) card, in our book returns, by mail, or take a picture and email us.
*Prizes will be awarded to children, ages 3-12, in the Iowa City area. Limit one per child.
Picking out the right book for a child can be challenging, especially when the library is closed for browsing. Let experienced library staff prepare a list of recommended titles or place a bundle of books on hold for you. This is an opportunity to discover new materials from your library, tailored to your child's age and interests, without needing to perform the search yourself.
Ready to get started? Simply fill out the form and allow 3-5 days for staff to reply: Ask for a bundle if you want a stack of great finds available ASAP, or ask for a list if you don't know what to check out next and you're looking for an expert match for your tastes.

Register in advance to join us Thursday, October 29 from 10:30-11:00 a.m. for a special live Halloween Storytime on Zoom with ICPL Children's librarians and an opportunity to show off your Halloween costume to the group via video! Staff have missed seeing your faces every day in the Storytime Room, but we'd LOVE to see your Halloween costumes. Babies, toddlers, and preschoolers are welcome to participate in Halloween-themed stories, rhymes, songs and games, and we will also do a costume show & tell for those who'd like to participate. Children's staff can't wait to show off their costumes as part of the festive fun! Please register for the event, and we will email a link to the Zoom meeting before Storytime.
Register for Sunday Fun Day Craft-To-Go Kits from the online events page. Kits can be mailed via US Mail or picked up during our Lobby Grab and Go hours, from 10am-6pm Monday-Saturday, just tell staff at the desk your name and that you have registered for a craft. Please allow several days for mail delivery. Limit to one kit per child in a household. A new craft kit will be offered every Monday and be available until Saturday or as supplies last, so check out the calendar for new crafts weekly!
Winners of the ICPL Summer Reading Program have been drawn. Keep an eye on your email or voicemail inbox as Library staff reach out to notify prize winners.
