Free Access to Online Resources Through the Library
What is an online resource? What kinds of things can you access for free through your ICPL card? We invite you to watch the video above, then visit www.icpl.org/resources to get started.
Arts & Crafts Bazaar Success
The Library hosted the eighth annual Arts & Crafts Bazaar and Holiday Book Sale on December 7. We are proud to announce that we raised over $7300 this year. This was possible due to the generous donation of time and items from hundreds of volunteers and supporters. Thank you!
Proceeds from the Arts & Crafts Bazaar and book sale benefit the Iowa City Public Library Friends Foundation, which supports the Summer Reading Program and other Library programs and collections.
Longtime Library Staff Honored for Years of Service
The Library recently said "Bon Voyage" to two longtime employees who have retired.
Maeve Clark, Adult Services Coordinator, has retired after 28 years of service to ICPL. The Gazette and the Press-Citizen each shared articles about our local "Library Lady."
Though her work was more behind the scenes, it was no less appreciated. Juanita Walker retired this year after being employed by the City of Iowa City for 28 years, 14 of which were at ICPL in our facilities department.
We wish Maeve and Juanita both a very happy retirement!
Each year at our InService Day, we honor staff who have achieved a milestone year of service. This year we honored 13 staff members who have worked a combined 150 years at ICPL!
