We are welcoming the new year with a new Bookmobile schedule! The Winter/Spring Schedule began Monday, January 6, and will continue through Thursday, May 21, 2020. If you've considered visiting the Bookmobile, but have not yet stopped in, maybe now is the right time! Don't have a library card (or lost your old one)? Not a problem! We can issue new or replacement cards on the Bookmobile. Students interested in trying out their new Student AIM cards can also stop on the Bookmobile to check out materials and learn more. Inclement weather policy reminder
While we feel ready for spring weather, our calendars tell us winter is still going strong. Now is a great time to make note of our inclement weather policy. The Bookmobile will not operate on days when inclement weather would result in hazardous driving or service conditions, including any day the Iowa City Community School District cancels due to weather. If this were to occur, public web announcements will be able to be found on our webpage.
Winter Reading Program on the Bookmobile
Too cold for kids to enjoy playing outside? Stay busy with our Winter Reading Program, which runs December 14 through February 14. Visit the Library, Bookmobile, or our webpage to sign your family up for the Winter Reading Program. Kids who read and track 10 books on their reading log will receive a coupon to the Iowa Children’s Museum and Panda Express. When they finish another 10 books, they’ll receive a ticket to our Llamazing Hot Cocoa Party on February 15, get to post their name on our wall of LLAMAzing Readers, and be entered into the grand prize drawing for a $50 gift certificate to Prairie Lights Bookstore. Prizes can be picked up at the Library or on the Bookmobile. Stop by to sign up and stock up on some LLAMAzing books!
