Iowa DOT’s Driver’s License Kiosk at ICPL
Did you know ICPL hosts one of the Department of Transportation’s self-service driver’s license renewal stations?
The renewal kiosk is a web-based device that uses touch-screen technology to allow each customer to renew their own driver’s license or ID, including a secure update of the photo that will appear on the customer’s new card. To do this, customers must meet the following conditions:
The customer has a valid noncommercial Iowa driver’s license or ID (not a commercial driver’s license).
The customer is at least 18, but younger than 70 years old.
The customer’s driver’s license or ID has not been expired for more than a year.
It is not more than 180 days before the expiration date on the customers current driver’s license or ID.
The customer is a U.S. citizen.
The customer does not have any medical or vision conditions that negatively impact the customer’s ability to safely drive.
The customer does not need to change the customer’s name, or license class, endorsements or restrictions.
ICPL’s kiosk is located on the Library’s second floor. It is accessible when the Library is open.
Spotlight on Library Outreach: At Home Services
We recently received a wonderful note from one from one of our At Home Services patrons.
"I thank you so very much (for this service) because it keeps me going. I’m 95 years old and all I have is the library.”
If you are unable to visit the Library due to a physical disability or a change in season, (we understand it’s hard to visit the Library in the ice and snow) we can provide materials by mail to residents of Iowa City, Hills, Lone Tree, University Heights, and rural Johnson County. You have access to any materials we can mail, including interlibrary loans.
To enroll in At Home Services, call 319-356-5200, email (athomeservices@icpl.org), or mail your request to At Home Services, 123 South Linn St,. Iowa City, Iowa, 52240.
