ICPL has several copies of each book available to check out.
State Librarian Michael Scott called the selection of Genoways' book "an excellent choice" that will resonate with Iowans.
“I encourage Iowans to join me next year in picking up this outstanding book and connecting with others to talk about the book and its themes," he stated in a news release.
This title is a joint selection between Iowa’s All Iowa Reads program and Nebraska’s One Book One Nebraska program.
Established in 2003, the All Iowa Reads program is one of the first projects to be provided by the Iowa Center for the Book. The purpose of All Iowa Reads is to foster a sense of unity through reading. More information and resources for book discussions will be available on the All Iowa Reads webpage in the coming months.

Publish your writing in the Literary Kiosk
The Literary Kiosk recently returned to the Library Lobby .
The result of a partnership between University of Iowa Libraries and the Iowa City UNESCO City of Literature, the kiosk allows on-demand printing of short prose or poetry works in a quick, easy, and engaging manner. Users simply press the one-, three- or five-minute button on the kiosk and instantly receive a free print of literary work.
Currently, the kiosks print public-domain works curated to fit the kiosk format, but soon the kiosks will offer works written specifically for the kiosks by community members. To have your works included in the kiosk, attend the Literary Kiosk writing workshop from 6 to 8 p.m., on Thursday, September 5, in Meeting Room D.
Hosted by Colin Kostelecky and Brittany Borghi, full-time writing faculty at the University of Iowa, the workshop will help you turn your literary ambitions into 8,000-character submissions. Bring your favorite writing medium — pens, pencils, papers, or laptops — and be ready to write. You can also bring a finished 8,000-character submission for the group to critique.
