With less than two weeks left of the 2019 Summer Reading Program, don't forget to fill out your game cards and turn them in for prizes!
Completed game cards can be turned in to staff at the Children's Room desk or on the Bookmobile. All cards turned in will be entered into the drawing for one of our Summer Reading Program grand prizes.

It's back! Get ready for fandom fun at Lib Con 2!
Coming to the Iowa City Public Library in August: Lib Con 2, ICPL’s annual comic con celebration.
Lib Con 2 will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, August 10, throughout the Library and MERGE buildings. It is free and open to all ages.
Tour Artist Alley to check out and buy local comic books and art, enter the Fandom Room to make a creation from your favorite fandom, listen to speakers talk about cosplay and creating comic books, join a super hero storytime, take pictures using our green screen, watch anime, have your face painted, and play board games and video games. Multiple vendors will be on hand for those who want to purchase comic-themed items.
Attendees are encouraged to attend in their favorite costume. We’ll give away prizes for the best dressed in all age categories. Judging in the children’s category will take place at 11:30 a.m. The teen contest will be held at 1 p.m. and the adult contest at 3 p.m. The winners will be announced immediately after each category. Winners must be present to collect their prize.
Following Lib Con 2, a multiverse trivia contest will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. in Room A at the Library. This competition will test teams of six on their pop culture knowledge from movies to comics, TV shows to books. Show up either as a team or on your own, and we’ll find a team for you to join.
Coffee for Caregivers on the first day of school Aug. 23
After you get your child off to school on Friday, August 23, stop by the Library to celebrate or commiserate with other caregivers -- you've earned a cup of coffee on us!
We will meet in Meeting Room A from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. This is a drop in program; feel free to stop by when it's convenient for you!
